Previous issue date: 2016-08-24 / CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Este trabalho consiste em uma exposição sucinta dos elementos notáveis dos sistemas de numeração, partindo das talhas numéricas até os primórdios da computação artificial. Tem como objetivo ser um recurso que permita ampliar a percepção da simplicidade matemática, ressaltando a importância do uso e evolução dos sistemas numéricos, ao longo da história da humanidade. Serão apresentados sistemas compartilhados por povos e civilizações, até a consolidação do sistema binário, como elemento essencial dos atuais computadores. Ele se destina a alunos e professores, que buscam informações sobre o tema, inseridos em seus respectivos contextos históricos e culturais. Este trabalho também abre espaço para sugerir discussões pertinentes sobre temas da atualidade, sendo instrumento de apoio em provas e exames, em conexão com temas transversais, tai como questões éticas, pluralidade cultural, trabalho e consumo. Este trabalho também contribui para aspectos motivacionais da aprendizagem e educação tecnológica. / This study consists of a concise exposition of the notable elements in the numbering systems ranging from the tally system to the beginnings of artificial computing. It aims at being a resource that allows enhancing the perception of mathematical simplicity highlighting the importance of the use and evolution of numbering systems through human history. It presents systems shared by peoples and civilizations up to the consolidation of the binary system, which is the essential element of today’s computers. It is intended for students and teachers that search for information on the subject regarding their particular cultural and historical settings. This study also provides an opportunity for suggesting relevant discussions on current issues, therefore being a supporting tool for tests and exams in connection with transverse themes, such as ethics, cultural plurality, work and consumerism. It also contributes to motivational aspects of learning and technological education.
