Previous issue date: 1999 / Resumo: Este trabalho aproxima duas linguagens da arte. Uma, produto da cultura escrita e da alquimia literária de Clarice Lispector -- A Hora da Estrela, romance de 1977. Outra - produto da cultura de imagens e sons contemporânea - a tradução hom' do romance para o cinema, dirigida por Susana Amaral, em 1985. A partir dos conceitos de Tradução e Alegoria, desenvolvidos por Walter Benjamin, o trabalhe, apontando a especificidade de cada linguagem, reflete o modo de, uma linguagem fazendo face com a outra, dizer a vida, o homem, a sociedade. Nos interstícios da tradução, podemos ver a realidade em sua temporalidade e historicidade -- alegorias do presente -- de onde se pressente o abismo existente entre expressão e o desejo de significação. A des-animada e quase invisível figura da personagem Maeabéa, no romance, tão visível no filme, protagonista de uma e outra obra, é a imagem alegórica nuclear da qual outras imagens
irrompem. O trabalho acompanha a personagem Macabéa, percorrendo um caminho que vai e imagens captadas no texto escrito, às imagens produzidas pelo filme, até aportar na
pessoa da atriz Marcélia Cartaxo, que protagonizou Macabra no feilme. Um trajeto da literatura, ao cinema, à vida da atriz / Abstract: This work approximates two languages of the art. One, product of the written culture and Clarice Lispector¿s literary alchemy -- The Hour of the Star, novel of 1977. The other one -- product of the images and sounds contemporaneous culture -- the homonymous translation of the novel to the cinema, directed by Susana Amaral, in 1985. According to the concepts of Translation. and Allegory, developed by Walter Benjamin, the work, pointing to the specificity of each language, reflects the way of, a lange heing the other, saying the life, the man, the society. In the interstices of the translation, we can see the reality in its temporality and historicity -- allegories from the present -- from where one can fore see the existent abyss between expression and the desire of signification. The dested and almost invisible figure of the character Macabea, on the novel, made visible through the movie, protagonist of both works, is the nuclear allegoric image am which other images irrupt. The work accompanies the character Macabea, going through a path that goes am the captured images in the written text to the images produced by the movie, until reaching the person of the actress Marcsilia Cartaxo, who pmtagonists Macabea on the movie.
