With this research we attempt to contribute with the discussion, reflection and
understanding of the social, political, economic and cultural factors that marked
the construction of the professional of technicians nursing practice in the
country and specifically in the city of Uberlândia, linked to the historical course
of the Technical Health School, Federal University of Uberlândia, an
educational institution dedicated to training the professional worker, since its
creation in 1973.
Created with the objective of assisting the municipality, and the cities near by,
this university Clinical Hospital was given the need to expand the health
services offered to a rapidly growing population, the Technical School has
played an important role in the community where it operates , regarding the
training of health middle level technicians in and especially for the
development of nursing through their effective participation in the creation of
undergraduate courses in this area, at the University of Uberlândia.
Thus, the present investigation, approved by the Ethics Committee of the
Federal University of Uberlândia on June 13, 2008, under the Protocol
Registration no. 079/08, through a dialectical conception of history, discusses
the relationship between work, education and human development, based on
sources of legal provisions of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry
of Health, documents and manuscripts held in the Uberlândia s Public Archives
but also in the Center for Memory Preservation Federal University of
Uberlândia, in the archives of the Technical Health School / UFU, Archives and
Documentation Department of Casa de Oswaldo Cruz (DAD / COC) and
Research Center and Documentation of Contemporary History Brazil's Center,
Getúlio Vargas Foundation (CPDOC / FGV). / Procuramos, com esta pesquisa, contribuir para o debate, reflexão e
compreensão das forças sociais, políticas, econômicas e culturais que marcaram
a construção do exercício profissional do técnico em enfermagem no país e em
específico no município de Uberlândia, vinculados ao percurso histórico da
Escola Técnica de Saúde da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, instituição
escolar voltada para a formação desse trabalhador, a partir de sua instalação, no
ano de 1973. Criada com o objetivo de atender ao município, ao Hospital de
Clínicas dessa Universidade e a cidades da região, diante da necessidade da
ampliação dos serviços de saúde oferecidos a uma população em pleno
crescimento, a Escola Técnica tem desempenhado importante papel na
comunidade na qual está inserida, no que se refere à formação de técnicos de
nível médio em saúde e, principalmente, para o desenvolvimento da
enfermagem mediante sua efetiva participação na criação do curso de
graduação nessa área, ligado à Universidade Federal de Uberlândia.
Para tal, a presente investigação, aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da
Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, em 13 de junho de 2008, sob o Protocolo
de Registro nº. 079/08, por meio de uma concepção dialética da história,
problematiza as relações entre trabalho, educação e formação humana, tendo
como fontes de estudos, dispositivos legais do Ministério da Educação e
Cultura, Ministério da Saúde, documentos impressos e manuscritos existentes
no Arquivo Público de Uberlândia como também no Núcleo de Preservação da
Memória da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, nos arquivos da Escola
Técnica de Saúde/UFU, no Departamento de Arquivo e Documentação da Casa
de Oswaldo Cruz (DAD/COC) e no Centro de Pesquisa e Documentação de
História Contemporânea do Brasil da Fundação Getúlio Vargas (CPDOC/FGV). / Doutor em Educação
