Previous issue date: 2000 / Resumo: A proposta da pesquisa é descobrir a importância que a escola de 1ª a 4ª série do ensino fundamental atribui ao ensino da música hoje, considerando a obrigatoriedade da Educação Artística no currículo, analisando os fatores legais,
políticos e pedagógicos que influenciaram a utilização da música como elemento didático no ensino formal de nosso país e investigando os fatores que provocaram dificuldades na continuidade do ensino musical na educação formal.Inicialmente se busca resgatar, através de um estudo bibliográfico, a
história do relacionamento entre música e educação através dos tempos, no mundo e no Brasil, fazendo um levantamento das tendências do ensino da música na atualidade. Em seguida são analisadas as grandes correntes psicopedagógicas
mundiais sobre o tema e sua influência sobre a educação no Brasil, bem como a definição de educação musical de acordo com vários estudiosos do assunto. Logo depois se discute a relação entre música, inteligência, criatividade e mercado de
trabalho. Finalmente é apresentado o resultado da pesquisa de campo que buscou oferecer uma radiografia do que acontece em nossas escolas hoje, discutindo,
analisando e argumentando a respeito do estado atual da utilização desse importante aliado no desenvolvimento integral do indivíduo, ressaltando o abandono dessa prática quase que por completo em nosso sistema educacional
oficial, verificado nas trezentas e dezessete escolas pertencentes às quatro delegacias de ensino da cidade de Campinas, e reíletido em uma das escolas que apresenta o maior índice de utilização da míísica entre suas atividades, onde
através do método qualitativo de pesquisa se buscou estabelecer os meios necessários à análise pretendida. O estudo do ensino da música e sua importância no processo educativo, permitiu estabelecer como causas da quase inexistência de atividade musical como instrumento formativo do educando, a deficiência da formação dos professores, nessa área de conhecimento gerando uma concepção equivocada nos sujeitos envolvidos no processo ensino-aprendizagem; falta de apoio oficial à implementação efetiva dessa modalidade de ensino, refletido mesmo nas leis que
regem a educação formal em nosso país, muito genérica em sua definição do ensino de artes no currículo. Esta pesquisa conclui com um desafio aos educadores-pesquisadores, no
sentido de desenvolver atitudes de desprendimento e até ousadia, além de criatividade e uma busca do conhecimento da realidade, com vistas ao futuro para fazer alguma diferença no ambiente que os cerca e na vida de alguns alunos / Absrtact: He proposal of the research is to discover the importance that the school from 1st to 4th grades of the fundamental teaching attributes today, to the teaching of the music, considering the compulsory nature of the Artistic
Education in the curriculum, analyzing the legal factors, political and pedagogic that influenced the use of the music as didactic element in the formal teaching of our country and investigating the factors that provoked difficulties in the continuity of the musical teaching in the formal education. Initially we look to rescue, through a bibliographical study, the history of
the relationship between music and education through the times, in the world and in Brazil, making a rising of the tendencies of music teaching at the present time. Soon after the great pshieopedagogic world chains are analyzed on the theme and
your influence on the education in Brazil, as well as the definition of musical education in agreement with several specialists of the subject. Therefore later the relationship is discussed among music, intelligence, creativity and job market. Finally the result is presented of the field research that looked for to offer an x-ray of what happens in our schools today, discussing, analyzing and arguing regarding the current state of that important ally¿s use in the individual's integral
development, almost pointing out the abandonment of that practice that entirely in our official educational system, verified at 317 schools belonging to four teaching police stations of the city of Campinas, and contemplated in one of the schools that presents the largest usage index of the music among your activities, where through the qualitative method of research it looked to establish the necessary ways to the intended analysis.The study of the teaching of the music and your importance in the educational process, allowed to establish causes of the almost inexistence of musical activity as the student's formative instrument, the deficiency of the teachers' formation, in that knowledge area generating a mistaken conception of the subjects involved in the teaching-learning process; lack of official support to the effective implementation of that teaching modality, reflected even in the laws
that govern the formal education in our country, very generic in your definition of the teaching of arts in the curriculum. This research ends with a challenge to the educator-researchers, in the sense of developing detachment attitudes and to daring, besides creativity and a search of the knowledge of the reality, with views of the future to do some difference in the atmosphere that surrounds them and in the life of some students / Mestrado / Metodologia do Ensino / Mestre em Educação
