Curso de Pós-Graduação em Letras / Inclui bibliografia e notas bibliográficas / Resumo: Durante 11 anos, de 1987 a 1998, foi editado em Curitiba um jornal de cultura, o Nicolau, cujo nome homenageou as etnias constituídas pelos poloneses, italianos, árabes e alemães, independentemente de suas origens geográficas e políticas. A presente dissertação teve como objetivo geral descrever a primeira fase do periódico no que se refere à diagramação, periodicidade e conteúdos, para resguardar o acervo cultural da época, através da catalogação, fichamento crítico de todas as seções presentes nos primeiros 55 exemplares tais como: poesia, cinema, painel, mirante, entre outros. Mediante um quadro geral de cada seção, analisou-se as matérias, o perfil dos colaboradores, bem como os procedimentos usados. As características do jornal também são questões centrais do trabalho e nele é revisto o contexto histórico desde o inicio de sua publicação, e o panorama cultural no qual o mesmo se insere. A análise da fonte documental Nicolau em cada uma de suas seções e quadros; compreendeu a organização de índices de assuntos e dos autores. / Abstract: During 11 years, from 1987 to 1998, it was published in Curitiba a cultural newspaper, Nicolau, which name was in honor to the ethnies constituted by Polish, Italian, Arabian and German people, no matter their geographic or political origins. The general scope of the present work was to describe the first phase of the newspaper regarding format, periodicity and contents, in order to preserve the cultural file of the time, by cataloguing, critically filing all the sections present on the 55 numbers such as: poetry, cinema, panel, mirante, among others. After the making of a general frame of each section, it was done the analysis of the subjects, the profile of the journalists as well as the procedures used the characteristics of the newspaper are also central questions to the work where the historical context since the beginning of its publishing and the cultural overview in which the paper is under are also reviewed. The analysis of the documental resource Nicolau, in each of its sections and frames, comprehended the organization of authors and subject indexes.
