Este trabalho da pesquisa foi realizado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências do
Ambiente, linha 2, Natureza, Cultura e Sociedade, e trata sobre a relação ecolinguística
do Povo Inỹ em termos de fortalecimento da língua materna. O objetivo da pesquisa foi
compreender melhor a relação entre as madeiras e seus usos no universo Inỹ e o meio
ambiente, bem como as técnicas de usos de elementos do meio ambiente através das
madeiras, relacionando esse tema com a prática da língua Inỹ rybe (língua karajá). A
pesquisa foi realizada através de levantamento documental, observações e
levantamentos de campo, e conversas e entrevistas com anciões da Aldeia Fontoura, na
Ilha do Bananal, Estado do Tocantins. Que mudanças de língua vêm ocorrendo no
decorrer do tempo? Isso que me levou a ser estimulado, pois o pretendo a contribuir
para fortalecer a língua materna do meu povo Inỹ. / This dissertation results of a research project developed in the Environmental Sciences
Graduate Program at Federal University of Tocantins, within the Nature, Culture and
Society concentration. It focuses on the ecolinguistic relationships between the Inỹ
(Karajá) socio-cultural organization, the environment and the woods used for various
purposes, with the aim of strengthening the native language. The study was developed
through literature review, field walks and observations, and through conversations and
interviews with elders of the Fontoura village in the Bananal Island, State of Tocantins.
What kind of changes have had in Inỹ ribe (Karajá language) trough time? This
question has encouraged me to develop this research, since I intend to contribute to
strengthen the mother tongue of my people, the Inỹ.
