Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka psykoterapeuters egna reflektioner kring sekundär traumatisering inom sitt yrke och hur det påverkar dem personligt i livet. Studien är en kvalitativ studie och författarna har använt sig av semistrukturerade intervjuer med ett induktivt angreppssätt. Psykoterapeutyrket kan vara berikande och skapa en känsla av att kunna göra skillnad, vilket kan kännas meningsfullt. Yrket kan dock bidra till negativa effekter såsom sekundär traumatisering. Författarna har undersökt psykoterapeuters egen påverkan, familjära och sociala relationer samt arbetsplatsens stöd och psykoterapeuternas egna copingstrategier. Resultatet författarna kom fram till var att arbetet med traumatiserade familjesystem påverkade psykoterapeuten i privata, familjära och andra sociala sammanhang. Informanterna påtalade vikten av egna copingstrategier för att orka med sitt arbete, samt vikten av att ha extern - och kollegial handledning, fortbildning och ett gott arbetsklimat. / The purpose of this study was to examine psychotherapists' own reflections on secondary traumatization within their profession and its impact on their personal lives. The study is a qualitative study. We have used semi-structured interviews with an inductive approach. The psychotherapist profession can be enriching and create a feeling of making a difference, which can feel like a sense of purpose. However, the profession can contribute to negative effects such as secondary traumatization. We have investigated psychotherapists' own influence, social relations as well as the workplace's support and own coping strategies. The result shows that the work with traumatized family systems influenced the psychotherapist in their personal lives and other social contexts. The informants pointed out the importance of their own coping strategies to cope with their work, as well as the importance of having external and collegial supervision, continuing education and a good working climate.
