This essay aims to investigate how teaching aids present ideologies, if the teaching aids are partial, and whether there are values in teaching aids that favor a particular ideology. The background of this study is based on the fact that the governmental teaching aids inspection ended in 1992. This has resulted in private actors producing the teaching aids that teachers intend to use. A prosumption for the teaching aid to be useful is that it seems appropriate to the central content that the teaching aids aims to treat. However, whether the teaching aids relates to the school´s impartial values is antother issue. Regarding the teaching that deals with ideologies in school, we can see that research identifies ideological values is teaching aids to swedish as a second language, and that 60% of civics teachers have used sponsord teaching materials whose purpose is to spread a message to the schools pupils. We can also see that the theoretical content that are presented in schools is being seen by pupils as a part of the reality, which contributes with problems if the content is partial. The principle of objectivity that the schools intend to apply is also seen by research as deeply problematic when the teaching itself aims to carry certain values. The result shows that liberalism and liberal values favor from the presentation of ideologies in the teaching aids. Socialism is equated with communism and gets an emphasis on its revolutionary branch and its right-breaking history. Conservatism is often linked to Christianity and Christian values and is therefore presented as an ideology with limited geographical influence. The final discussion treats the potential problematic as the study´s results point to. The discussion assumes that a partial education potentially can change the political climate.
