Between Fact and Fiction : How Perry Smith Became a Tragic Hero in Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood

This essay argues that In Cold Blood can be read as a Greek tragedy. This is because it has all the structural elements required according to Aristotles definition, as well as a running theme of pity and fear. Additionally, by reading In Cold Blood as a Greek tragedy, it is also possible to establish how Truman Capote moulded Perry Smith into a Tragic Hero. /
Slutgiltigt godkännandedatum: 2023-06-02
