El Partido Popular Cristiano (PPC) es uno de los partidos políticos más representativos de nuestro país. Desde su fundación en 1966, han transcurrido diversos presidentes por la organización y en la mayoría de los casos, por consenso; salvo lo acontecido en el año 2011. Desde ese momento, el PPC atravesó una de las épocas más difíciles de su existencia, debido a que los enfrentamientos y pugnas faccionales se exteriorizaron a la opinión pública, lo que ha ocasionado que en la actualidad no cuente con representación nacional y solo tenga un grupo reducido de autoridades locales a nivel subnacional. La presente investigación se aborda desde un enfoque explicativo y descriptivo, con la finalidad de evidenciar los verdaderos intereses de las dos facciones que aún coexisten, como los “institucionales” y “reformistas”. Para ello, se ha identificado a los principales actores políticos durante el gobierno pepecista de Raúl Castro Stagnaro, distribuyendo su análisis en tres periodos competitivos: elecciones internas dirigenciales 2011; congresos nacionales 2014 y 2015; y, elecciones internas de selección de candidatos 2014 y 2015. Ello ha permitido demostrar homogeneidades y heterogeneidades, incluso, contrarias a su doctrina socialcristiana. El trabajo de campo confirmó que las facciones actuaron por temas personalistas, aplicando clientelismo puro, estrategias deshonestas y que la exteriorización de sus pugnas fue adversa para la institución, pudiendo afirmar que durante dicha época, el PPC se fraccionó y actuó como una organización informal,
a tal punto que su lideresa, Lourdes Flores Nano, demandó al propio partido ante el
Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE). Finalmente, se proponen algunas
recomendaciones para una mejor dinámica interna en el PPC, y, por ende, en los
partidos políticos peruanos / The Popular Christian Party (PPC) is one of the most representative political parties in
our country. Since its foundation in 1966, various presidents have passed through the
organization by consensus; except for what happened in 2011. From that moment, the
PPC went through one of the most difficult periods of its existence, because the
confrontations and factional struggles were exposed to public opinion, which has caused that at present the party does not count with national representation and just have a small group of local authorities at the subnational level. The objective of the current research work is to demonstrate the true interests of the two factions that still coexist, such as the "institutional" and "reformist". For this, the main political actors have been identified during the pepecista government of Raúl Castro Stagnaro. The analysis has been divided in three competitive periods: party president election 2011; party conventions 2014 and 2015; and, selection of candidates processes for 2014 and 2015. This has made it possible to demonstrate homogeneities and
heterogeneities, even contrary to their Christian-social doctrine. The field work confirmed that the factions acted on personal issues, applying pure clientelism, dishonest strategies and that the exposition of their struggles was adverse for the institution, which allows to affirm that during that time, the PPC split up and acted as an informal organization, to such an extent that a party leader, Lourdes Flores Nano, sued the party before the Electoral Jury of Elections (JNE).
