El presente Trabajo de Suficiencia Profesional examina el mercado universitario en Lima, principalmente de las universidades que concentran el mayor mercado, calculado por el índice de concentración.
El objetivo principal del estudio es identificar bajo qué estructura de mercado se desenvuelve la industria universitaria, identificando las características principales propias del tipo de estructura.
La metodología que se utilizó para obtener los datos del análisis, consiste en entrevistas a profundidad semiestructuradas para determinar de qué manera fijan el precio del servicio que ofrecen. De esta manera se podrá determinar si las hipótesis planteadas son correctas.
Se concluye que la industria universitaria en Lima se desenvuelve en un mercado de competencia monopolística, y cada una fija sus precios de acuerdo a sus características de diferenciación adicionales que ofrecen a su público objetivo. / The present study examines the university market in Lima, focusing on the universities that concentrate the greater market and was calculated by the Concentration Ratio.
The main objective of this work is to identify under what market structure the university industry operates, identifying the main characteristics of the type of structure.
The methodology used to obtain the analysis data consists of semi-structured in depth interviews, to determine how universities fix the price of their service. In this way, it will be possible to determine if the hypotheses raised are correct.
It is concluded that the university industry in Lima operates in a market of monopolistic competition and each one of the participating companies fixes its price according to its additional differentiation characteristics that they offer to specific targets.
