Previous issue date: 2009 / As mudanças no processo de aprender com o advento da tecnologia e da democratização ao acesso à informação oportunizaram mudanças de paradigmas na educação, levando a modificação nos papéis do professor e do aprendente. Sabendo da importância dos dois lados, os do professor e do aluno, e de estarem preparados e dispostos para o processo de ensinoaprendizagem de línguas (que é o foco desta pesquisa), os dois precisam reconhecer e exercer seus papéis dentro desse contexto. Este trabalho de caráter interpretativista buscou compreender melhor sobre e conscientizar o aprendiz do seu novo papel de protagonista no cenário de ensino-aprendizagem de línguas atual. Uma comparação entre as competências do professor e as competências do aprendiz foi realizada. Esta pesquisa aprofundou mais os estudos sobre a correlação entre a competência profissional do professor e a do aluno evidenciando que o aprendente também tem uma competência correspondente a essa, que denominei COMPETÊNCIA ACADÊMICA. Essa competência trata da responsabilidade desse aluno pela sua própria aprendizagem, a consciência teórica e prática sobre o seu papel protagonista além de entender que também está presente a responsabilidade social junto aos seus colegas e ao ambiente de ensino aprendizagem. O cerne dessa competência é a identidade do aprendente, o conhecimento de que deve estar preparado para aprender, transformando-se de aluno passivo para proativo nesse processo. Os construtos sobre autonomia na aprendizagem de línguas, inteligências múltiplas, motivação e afetividade também foram abordados. Como plano de ação desta pesquisa-ação foi desenvolvido um curso de formação de alunos, EUKURTO APRENDER, que teve por objetivo iniciar o processo de desenvolvimento das competências de aprender. Os instrumentos utilizados foram os de observação participante, entrevistas semi-estruturadas em grupo, auto-imagens (desenhos), listas de como melhor aprender e notas de campo. Os dados evidenciaram resultados positivos e animadores para a aquisição de línguas, por meio dos conhecimentos ofertados no curso de formação de alunos. Esse curso foi um espaço para o início de desenvolvimento da competência acadêmica, que se mostra como gestora das outras competências de aprender, que sendo elas estimuladas ao desenvolvimento levam os alunos a um caminho muito promissor no sucesso da aprendizagem de línguas. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The changes in the learning process with the advent of the technology and the democratization of the access to the information allow changes in the education paradigms, leading to the modification in the teachers and students roles. Knowing the importance of the two sides, the teachers and the students roles, and being prepared and willing for the process of teaching-learning of languages (the focus of this research), both need to recognize and to do their roles in this teaching and learning context. This interpreted work aimed to understand the students better and make them aware of their new protagonist roles in the scene of the current teaching-learning of languages. A comparison between the teachers competencies and the learners competencies was done. This research focused more on the studies of the correlation between the teachers professional competence and the pupils evidencing that learners also have a corresponding competence to this, which I called ACADEMIC COMPETENCE. This competence deals with the responsibility of the student for his/her own learning, the theoretical and practical conscience on his/her protagonist role and also understanding that the social responsibility with his/her colleagues and with the environment of learning-teaching is present. The core of this competence is the learners identity, the knowlegde of they must be prepared to learn, changing themselves from passive students to pro-active students in this process. The theory about autonomy in the language learning, multiple intelligences, motivation and affectivity had also been researched. As an action plain of this action-research, a language learners education course was developed, EUKURTO TO LEARN LANGUAGES, whose aim is to initiate the process of development of the competencies to learn. The instruments used were: participant observation, interviews in groups, self-images (drawings), lists of how to learn English better and field notes. The data evidenced positive and encouraging results for the acquisition of languages, through the knowledge offered in the language learners education course. This course was a space for the beginning of the development of the academic competence, which shows as the manager of the other competencies to learn, showing that if they are developed they (competencies to learn) guide the learners to a very promising way in the success of the learning of languages.
