Previous issue date: 2013-01-10 / The essay aims to evoke an allegorical discussion regarding contemporary Brazilian literature. By means of two varieties of style situated at opposite ends of the literary spectrum the excessive and the concise , it presents an analysis that postulates a range of Portuguese writers as an indirect way of investigating the disappearance of an epic feeling within the realm of Brazilian literature. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the essay does not intend to pitch one style against the other (a futile endeavour, given we are not locked inside a dialectical system that should achieve synthesis out of opposing positions), but to point out some values inherent to an excess-prone literature an excess that values creating a fictional world over the ploy of empty linguistic games. / O presente ensaio busca entabular uma discuss?o aleg?rica acerca da literatura brasileira contempor?nea. Sob o prisma de dois estilos situados em extremos opostos do espectro liter?rio o excesso e a concis?o, prop?e-se uma an?lise que parta de obras de autores portugueses na tentativa de investigar o desaparecimento de um sentimento ?pico da literatura brasileira. Conv?m ressaltar que n?o ? objetivo do ensaio o de provar a supremacia de um estilo liter?rio sobre o outro (uma tarefa em tudo in?til n?o estamos aqui inseridos em um sistema dial?tico que buscar? extrair uma s?ntese de dois p?los opostos), mas sim o de apontar para alguns valores inerentes a uma literatura do excesso um excesso, como se ver?, que diz mais respeito ? constru??o de um mundo ficcional, e menos ? profus?o de malabarismos lingu?sticos.
