Madre de Dios plantea poner en valor su biodiversidad como base para su desarrollo
sostenible. Esta visión se sustenta en el desarrollo del turismo, en su industria forestal y
agroforestal, maderables y no maderables, y en la investigación, innovación y tecnología
como base para el crecimiento económico, así como en el bienestar de su población.
Para alcanzar esta visión se especificaron objetivos y estrategias con el fin de
garantizar el desarrollo sostenible de la provincia al 2030. Para la determinación de estas
estrategias, se consideró, por un lado, el análisis externo de la provincia para identificar las
tendencias en el entorno que influyen en la provincia; y, por otro lado, el análisis interno en
aras de identificar sus fortalezas y debilidades. Las principales fortalezas de la provincia están
centradas en su biodiversidad, en su sector forestal y agroforestal, así como en su atractivo
turístico. Por otro lado, sus debilidades se concentran en el uso limitado de tecnología, y la
poca innovación y conectividad.
Como resultado del proceso de planeación estratégica se concluye que la provincia
tiene un enorme potencial para el desarrollo de diferentes industrias que funcionen en
diversificación concéntrica para el crecimiento de la economía y bienestar de la provincia. Se
propone el desarrollo de un clúster turístico de nivel internacional, un clúster en la industria
forestal y agroforestal; y un clúster en biotecnología que ponga en valor a los productos de su
vasta biodiversidad; y riqueza natural. Todo lo anterior permitirá lograr que Tambopata se
convierta en una de las veinte ciudades más atractivas para invertir en todo Latinoamérica, en
el año 2030 / The strategic planning developed for Tambopata province in the region of Madre de
Dios, proposes to set its biodiversity in value; as a base for its sustainable development. The
vision is stated in the development of the tourism, forestry and agroforestry industry; timber
and non-timber; and in the research, innovation and technology as a base for the economic
growth; and the welfare of the population.
To reach this vision, objectives and strategies were specified to guarantee a
sustainable development for the province towards 2030. To determine the strategies it have
been taken into account, for one side, the external analysis for the province with the purpose
to identify the trends in the environment that influence in the province; and in the other side;
the internal analysis to determine the strengths and weaknesses. The main strengths for the
province are based on its biodiversity, forestry and agroforestry sectors; and its tourism
attractions. On the other hand, its weaknesses are focused in the limited use of technology,
innovation and connectivity.
As a result of the strategic planning process it is concluded that the province has an
enormous potential for the development of the different industries that works in a concentric
diversification to get the economic growth and the welfare for the population. It is proposed
the development for the touristic cluster that gets international competitiveness; the forestry
and agroforestry cluster; and a biotechnology cluster. All of these topics will contribute to set
the real value of the province and all its natural wealth, towards to be recognized as a one of
the best twenty cities to invest in the Latin-American region in 2030 / Tesis
