Detta projekt togs fram av CTMH (Centrum för Teknik i Medicin och Hälsa) och ClinicalInnovation Fellowship i samarbete med Barnonkologen på Astrid Lindgrens Barnsjukhus. PåBarnonkologen hade problem med patienternas ankomst till mottagningen upptäckts, vilketorsakade stress och förvirring bland personal och patienter. Då patienter ankommer till denöppna mottagningen ska längd, vikt och blodtryck mätas samt journalföras, innan patiententräffar en läkare. Detta görs av någon ur personalstyrkan, sjuksköterska eller barnsköterska,som antecknar mätvärdena och därefter journalför antecknade värden. Dagens system innebärmycket spring och stora tidsförluster för personalen samt förvirring bland patienterna somkanske inte vet när och hur mätningarna ska ske.Målet med detta projekt var att utveckla ett incheckningssystem som tillgodoser de behov somidentifierades på mottagningen. En prototyp, redo för testning på mottagningen, skulle varaklar vid slutförandet av projektet. Syftet var att incheckningssystemet som utvecklades skullebli en del av en förenklad vardag på mottagningen och avlasta personalen och minskaförvirring och stress hos patienterna.Undersökningar, med personal, patienter och anhöriga på mottagningen, i form av intervjueroch observationer utfördes för att skapa en uppfattning om vardagen på mottagningen. Enenkätundersökning genomfördes också med anhöriga till patienter på mottagningen. Syftetmed dessa metoder var att förstå behoven och önskemålen från dem som skulle komma att blianvändarna av systemet. Dessa undersökningar tillsammans med studier av lagar ochföreskrifter om utvecklande av medicintekniska produkter samt hygienrutiner på sjukhus stodtill grund för kravspecifikationen på systemet som sedan utvecklades. Stor vikt lades vid attautomaten skulle passa och intressera hela målgruppen (patienter 2-18 år), vilket varprojektets största utmaning.Resultatet blev en incheckningsautomat som patienter och anhöriga själva använder när dekommer till mottagningen. Automaten väger och mäter patienten samt ställer några övrigafrågor om allmäntillstånd. / This project was developed by CTMH (Centre for Technology in Medicine and Health) andClinical Innovation Fellowship in understanding with the Department of Pediatric Oncologyat Astrid Lindgren’s Children’s Hospital. At the Department of Pediatric Oncology there wereproblems with the arrival of patients to the reception that caused stress and confusion amongthe staff and the patients. When a patient arrives at the reception length, weight and bloodpressure should be measured and noted in the journal before the patient sees a doctor. Themeasuring is carried out by a nurse, who writes down the measured values and then enters thevalues in the journal. This system causes a lot of running around for the nurses and takes up alot of their time. The system also causes confusion among the patients who might not knowby whom the measuring is to be carried out and when the measuring is to take place.The goal of this project was to develop a check-in system that satisfies the identified needs atthe reception. A prototype, ready to be tested at the reception, was to be manufactured. Thepurpose of the developed check-in system was to be a natural part of the everyday work at thereception and to decrease the staff’s work load as well as the confusion and stress among thepatients.The everyday life at the reception was investigated through interviews with staff and patientsas well as observations at the reception. A survey was done among relatives to patients. Thesemethods were used to understand the needs and wishes of the future users of the system.Together with studies of laws and regulations regarding development of medical equipment aswell as hygiene routines at hospitals a requirements list for the system could be developed.Great emphasis was placed on developing a product that suited the whole group of potentialusers (patients 2-18 years), and this was the project’s biggest challenge.The work resulted in a prototype of a self-check-in system that patients and their relatives usewhen arriving at the reception. The system measures weight and length and asks a few generalquestions.
