Neodent, Curitiba, Brazil); (G2) three-unit crowns over external hexagon implant of 5.0 Ø x 7mm (Titamax Ti, Neodent); (G3) three splintted crowns over external hexagon implants of 5.0 Ø x13mm (Titamax Ti, Neodent); (G4) three-unit crowns over external implants of 5.0 Ø x 13mm (Titamax Ti, Neodent); (G5) three splintted crowns over Cone Morse implants of 5.0 Ø x 7mm (Titamax CM, Neodent); (G6) three-unit crowns over Cone Morse implants of 5.0 Ø x 7mm (Titamax CM, Neodent); (G7) three splintted crowns over Cone Morse implants of 5.0 Ø x 13mm (Titamax CM, Neodent) and (G8) three--unit crowns over Cone Morse implants of 5.0 Ø x 13mm (Titamax CM, Neodent). The edge adaptation, in all of the metallic structures, was inicially analised in optical microscopy and showed results under 40µm. After, they were analysed through photoelastic analysis and it was possible
to observe that all of the structures showed similar patterns of passivity. An occlusal loading of 100N was aplied in three points individually: A (occlusal region of the first pre molar), B (occlusal region of the second pre molar) and C (occlusal region of the first molar), corresponding to the exit of the screws. Through the photoelastic technique it was possible to evaluate the influence of the length, of the splinttation and of the kind of connection of implants in the tensions distribution in posterior rehabilitations of mandible. The results found through the analysis of quantity and location of photoelastic fringes showed that the length of the implant seems not to influence in the tensions distribution, while splintation and the Cone Morse connection influenced in a positive way the tensions distribution in posterior rehabilitation of mandible. Key words: length of implant, type of connection, splinttation / Doutorado / Protese Dental / Doutor em Clínica Odontológica
