__________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This research examines the different forms of women insertion in the colonial society of the captainship of Goiás, particularly in the final portion of the eighteenth century and beginning of the nineteenth century, a moment that is understood under the optics of the “crisis” in the regional historiography. Considering the ntercontinental dynamics effected in the context of the transatlantic traffic, we point out the captainship of Goiás as one of the areas of Colonial Brazil in which reverberated these wide movements. In a gender perspective, we discuss the strategies used by the women towards the construction of conjugal unions, the forms of emancipation attainment, the feminine businesses and the possibilities of autonomy of the coloured women.
