sobre as fun??es cognitivas. O exerc?cio f?sico e a estimula??o transcraniana
por corrente continua (ETCC) promovem aumento da oxigena??o cerebral no
qual beneficia a fun??o cerebral, e tamb?m, o controle inibit?rio. O objetivo do
estudo foi analisar os efeitos da intensidade do exerc?cio f?sico e da
estimula??o transcraniana por corrente cont?nua associado ao exerc?cio f?sico
agudo sobre controle inibit?rio, oxigena??o cerebral e regula??o auton?mica
card?aca em adultos. Foram recrutados por conveni?ncia 20 homens adultos
fisicamente ativos. Para verificar o controle inibit?rio foi utilizado o teste de
cores de Stroop. Os volunt?rios realizaram, em dias diferentes e ordem aleat?ria,
quatro encontros, sendo: tr?s exerc?cios retangulares por 30 minutos, numa
intensidade leve, moderada ou vigorosa e uma condi??o controle. Ap?s esse
momento, tivemos mais dois encontros, com a participa??o de todos os
volunt?rios submetidos a sess?o ETCC real e Sham de forma randomizada e
contrabalanceada em dias alternados. A ETCC foi aplicada por 20 minutos com
intensidade de corrente de 2 mA. O eletrodo cat?dico foi posicionado na regi?o
T4, e o an?dico na regi?o F3 sobre C?rtex Pr? Frontal (CPF). A atividade
cerebral foi avaliada a partir do monitoramento da hemodin?mica cerebral
atrav?s das concentra??es absolutas de oxihemoglobina (HbO),
desoxihemoglobina (Hb), hemoglobina total (Hbtot), utilizando a espectroscopia por infravermelho pr?ximo (NIRS). A ANOVA two-way (2 condi??es X 3
momentos) com medidas repetidas foi utilizada para comparar as respostas do
controle inibit?rio, atividade cerebral e VFC entre as condi??es. A signific?ncia
das an?lises foi assumida quando P < 0,05. Comparando as intensidades do
exerc?cio vs controle, as intensidades moderada e vigorosa apresentaram uma
maior oxigena??o indicando aumento da atividade no c?rtex pr?-frontal,
concomitantemente com a melhora no controle inibit?rio. A ETCC associada ao
exerc?cio f?sico melhorou o tempo de rea??o sem modifica??o no n?vel de
erros. A ETCC real modificou a atividade cerebral por meio de uma maior
oxigena??o p?s-esfor?o. Todavia, a ETCC real associada ao exerc?cio n?o
modulou a Variabilidade da Frequ?ncia Card?aca (VFC). Esses resultados
sugerem que pr?ticas n?o farmacol?gicas de baixo custo, f?cil aplicabilidade e
n?o invasiva podem ser uma ferramenta ?til na sa?de p?blica para preven??o e
melhora do comportamento cognitivo. / There is a growing interest in the effects of non-pharmacological interventions
on cognitive functions. Exercise and transcranial direct current stimulation
(TDCS) have been shown to influence brain function in improving inhibitory
control, promoting an increase in blood flow and cerebral oxygenation. The
purpose of the present study was to analyze the effects of exercise intensity
and transcranial direct current stimulation associated with acute physical
exercise on inhibitory control, cerebral oxygenation and cardiac autonomic
regulation in adults. Twenty physically active adult males were recruited for
convenience. To verify the inhibitory control was used the color test of Stroop.
The volunteers performed, on different days and random order, four encounters,
being: three rectangular exercises for 30 minutes, in a mild, moderate or
vigorous intensity and a control condition. After that moment, we had two more
meetings, with the participation of all the volunteers submitted to the TDCS real
session and Sham in a randomized and counterbalanced way every other day.
The TDCS was applied for 20 minutes with current intensity of 2 mA, the
cathode electrode was positioned in the T4 region, and the anode in the F3
region on Pre Frontal Cortex (PFC). Brain activity was assessed from the
monitoring of cerebral hemodynamics through absolute concentrations of
oxyhemoglobin (HbO), deoxyhemoglobin (Hb), total hemoglobin (Hbtot), using
near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). The two-way ANOVA (2 conditions X 3
moments) with repeated measurements was used to compare the responses of inhibitory control, brain activity and HRV between conditions. The significance
of the analyzes was assumed when P <0.05. Comparing the intensities of the
exercise vs control, the moderate and vigorous intensities presented a greater
oxygenation indicating an increase of the activity in the prefrontal cortex,
concomitantly with the improvement in the inhibitory control. Exerciseassociated
TDCS increased brain activity through increased post-exercise
oxygenation. However, these brain changes did not influence better inhibitory
control. On the other hand, physical exercise increased inhibitory control,
decreasing reaction time and errors when compared to the control condition. In
addition, the exercise-related TDCS did not modulate the Heart Rate Variability
(HRV). These results suggest that non-pharmacological practices of low cost,
easy applicability and non-invasiveness can be a useful tool in public health for
prevention and improvement of cognitive behavior.
