This study entails the design of a new engineering faculty building for the University of the North West’s (NWU) main campus at Potchefstroom. The design is influenced by considerations regarding the strengthening of the spatial qualities of the existing main campus, the campus’s relationship with its academic surrounds, requirements as stated by the office of the dean (faculty of engineering, NWU) and a commitment to sustainable design. The problem is addressed on the level of form. The answer is therefore spatial. A flexible architecture evolves. 'n Buigsame argitektuur ontwikkel.
