Defesa: Curitiba, 18/12/2007 / Inclui referências : f. 110-114 / Resumo: Esta pesquisa tem como objeto de estudo o trabalho do pedagogo face ao reordenamento dos tempos escolares e seus efeitos sobre a organização do trabalho pedagógico escolar. O trabalho aborda a constituição das concepções sobre o tempo e a configuração do tempo escolar. Traz uma análise sobre a história da escola em ciclos, no Brasil, como alternativa à organização escolar seriada. A organização em ciclos é compreendida enquanto política e como construção dos sujeitos que atuam na escola. Revelam que algumas propostas são comprometidas com a democratização do ensino, outras nem tanto, estão mais preocupadas com a superação da repetência e evasão e dados estatísticos. A investigação se dá a partir de aprofundamento teórico sobre ciclos; sobre o trabalho do pedagogo e sobre a organização do trabalho pedagógico, a partir de análise de base documental e pesquisa empírica que constou de dois momentos: uma pesquisa exploratória e entrevistas junto a duas escolas da Rede Municipal de Educação da Prefeitura de Curitiba, por apresentar uma educação marcada pela história construída por pedagogos há 30 anos, que proporcionaram condições de perceber como a organização em ciclos incide no trabalho do pedagogo e na organização do trabalho pedagógico escolar. A análise se faz a partir de categorias pertinentes à constituição do trabalho do pedagogo: gestão, planejamento, currículo e avaliação. O trabalho aponta às mudanças que estão ocorrendo, mesmo que de forma lenta, nas escolas cicladas e revela que as políticas não se efetivam conforme são pensadas, mas são reconfiguradas pela cultura da escola e seus sujeitos. Palavras-chave: Trabalho do pedagogo, escola em ciclos; tempo escolar. / Abstract: This research has as its study's object the work of the pedagogue, facing the rearrengement of school timings and its effects over the organization of the school pedagogical work. The research approaches the conceptions about time's constitution and the configuration of the school timing. It brings an analysis of Brazil's history on schooling in cycles, as an alternative to the school organization in grades. The organization in cycles is understood as being political, and as a construction of the subjects that act in school. They reveal that some propositions are compromised with the democratization of the teaching, and others are more preoccupied with surpassing the failure; and evasion and statistical data. The investigation starts from the theorical insight about cycles; then the work of the pedagogue and finally about the organization of the pedagogical work with documented basis' analysis, and empirical research, consisting of two different moments: an exploratory research, and interviews, that took place in two of Curitiba's municipal schools, chose because they presented an education marked by the history built by pedagogues for 30 years, and provided conditions for observation on how the organization in cycles reflects in the work of the pedagogue, and in the organization of the school's pedagogical work. The analysis is made from categories relevant to the constitution of the pedagogue's work: administration, planning, curriculum and evaluation. The research points to the changes that, even though in a slow form, have been happening in the cycled schools, and reveals that politics are not produced as they are first thought of, but end up taking the shape of an specific school and of its subject's culture.
