Em cena, o grande teatro do mundo de Jorge Lima.

Abstract: “O Grande Circo Místico”, is a poem written by Jorge de Lima which is in A túnica inconsútil, a book from the top of spiritualist phase of the poet. Two adaptations for ballet were done based on this poem. They were named as the poem and presented in 1983 and 2002. Both of them had a good reception in the society and by the criticalsand have been not only in all the country but also in Portugal. This search intends to crify how the poem interpretations occured analysing the way that the poetic language was adapted to the theater and also checking the changes or mantainanas in teh literary elements. There will be verified as well how the readers, public and criticlas from that epoc received “O Grande Circo Místico” based on Reception Theory by Hans Robert Jauss and Wolfgang Iser and Sociology of Literature by Roger Chartier.
