Previous issue date: 2015 / A presente dissertação parte da discussão que o conceito de envelhecimento ou a definição de pessoa idosa não são objeto de consenso, seja na literatura especializada ou na sociedade em geral. Busca-se discutir esse conceito sobre diferentes áreas do conhecimento, considerando o processo de transição demográfica da população brasileira. Neste sentido, apresenta-se como objetivo geral analisar as políticas sociais da Seguridade Social brasileira voltada para a população idosa, com foco na política de saúde. No âmbito da construção dos direitos a preocupação com o processo do envelhecimento da população ganha destaque a partir da I Assembleia Mundial sobre Envelhecimento, realizada em 1982 em Viena. No Brasil, além dos direitos conquistados pela Constituição Federal em 1988 com as políticas de Seguridade Social, muito se avançou na elaboração de políticas sociais voltadas aos idosos, dentre as quais podemos citar a Política Nacional do Idoso (1994); o Estatuto do Idoso (2003); A Política Nacional de Assistência Social (2004); A Política Nacional de Saúde da Pessoa Idosa (2006). A pesquisa é realizada por meio de uma revisão de literatura com análise documental. É organizada em duas seções, na primeira realizo uma fundamentação teórica com aportes para discussão da questão do envelhecimento e breves apontamentos da Seguridade Social, na segunda seção exponho sobre a política social da Seguridade Social seus marcos legais e regulatórios para idosos no Brasil e por fim são redigidas algumas considerações tendo em vista o exposto na pesquisa.<br> / Abstract : The following thesis begins with the debate regarding the lack of consensus on the concept of aging or definition of elder person, whether on literature or society in general. The concept is discussed under different knowledge areas, considering the process of demographic transition in Brazilian society. that regard, it is presented as general objective the analysis of Social Security's social policies focused on the elderly population, with emphasis in health policies. In the In the scope of the establishment of rights, the awareness regarding worry about the aging population is raised in the discussion and elaboration of public Brazilian policies through the first World Assembly on Ageing, held in Vienna in 1982. In Brazil, beyond the rights earned with the Brazilian Federal Constitution in 1988 through the Social Security policies, much progress has been made regarding social policies for the elderly, among which we can cite the National Politics of the Elderly (1994); the Senior Citizens' Statute (2003); the National Social Assistance Policy(2004); and the National Health Policy for the Elderly Person (2006). The research is made through a literature review with documental analysis. The research is organized in two sections, in the first I make a theoretical foundation with contributions to the discussion of aging and brief notes of Social Security, and in the second I expose the Social Security's social policies and its legal and regulatory milestones for the elderly in Brazil and finally some considerations are drafted having in mind the exposed in the research.
