Bakgrund: Ordet stöd kan innebära olika saker och uppfattas på olika sätt av patienter. Sjuksköterskor bör se patienter som unika individer och erbjuda stöd utifrån de individuella behoven som finns hos patienter. Sjuksköterskor bör utgå ifrån att arbeta personcentrerat, för att skilja på behoven hos patienter. Syfte: Syftet för detta examensarbete var att beskriva patienters erfarenheter av stöd ifrån sjuksköterskor. Metod: En litteraturstudie har genomförts och tolv vårdvetenskapliga artiklar inkluderades i detta examensarbete. Resultat: Två teman kunde identifieras i arbetet, dessa två var kommunikationens betydelse och delaktighetens betydelse. Efter att två teman identifierats skapades fyra subteman. Det framkom att patienter erfor stöd ifrån sjuksköterskor genom att patienter blev lyssnade till, att de fick information, fick medverka i sin egen vård samt bygga upp förtroendefulla relationer. Slutsats: Stöd kan upplevas och erfaras olika utifrån varje enskild individ, det vill säga att alla människor är unika och har olika behov av stöd. Vidare dras slutsatser att stöd i olika kontexter är betydelsefulla för att patienter ska känna sig stöttade. En del patienter beskriver att stöd kunde uppfattas som negativt i olika situationer, därav finns det behov av mer forskning på varför patienter erfor detta stöd negativt. / Background: The word support can mean different things and is perceived in different ways by patients. Nurses should see patients as unique individuals and offer support based on the individual needs of patients. Nurses should start from person-centered work, in order to differentiate between the needs of patients. Purpose: The purpose was to describe patients' experiences of support from nurses. Method: A literature study was used as a method in this degree project and twelve nursing articles were included in this thesis Results: Two themes could be identified in the work, these two were communication and the importance of participation. After two themes were identified, four subthemes were created. It emerged that patients experienced support from nurses through patients being listened to, receiving information, participating in their own care and building caring relationships. Conclusion: Support can be perceived and experienced differently based on everyone, that all people are unique and have different needs for support. Furthermore, conclusions are drawn that support in different contexts is important for patients to feel supported. Some patients describe that support could be perceived as negative in various situations, hence there is a need for more research into why patients experienced this support negatively.
