Previous issue date: 2012-03-30 / The slowdown in population growth, with low rates of fertility and mortality, and increased life expectancy and survival, are causing significant changes in age structure of the country, resulting in increasing aging population. Social security in Brazil is going to have fundamental importance for the older population, yet there are funding problems with the increase in the deficit by "reversing the population pyramid." This work emphasizes the importance of discussing reforms to Social Security in Brazil. It aims to address the possible alternatives of the Ministry of Social Security to reduce the pension deficit over time. It is also carried out a summary of relevant facts that build the history of Social Security until today, together with studies and actuarial projections, national and international, to contribute to reducing imbalances / A desacelera??o no ritmo de crescimento da popula??o, com baixas taxas de fecundidade e mortalidade, e o aumento da expectativa de vida e sobrevida, s?o fatores que ocasionaram mudan?as expressivas na estrutura et?ria do pa?s, resultando no crescente envelhecimento populacional. A Previd?ncia Social no Brasil passa a ter import?ncia fundamental para a popula??o idosa, contudo h? problemas de financiamento com o aumento do d?ficit atrav?s da invers?o da pir?mide populacional. Este trabalho ressalta a import?ncia da discuss?o de reformas para a Previd?ncia Social no Brasil. E tem como objetivo tratar as poss?veis alternativas do Minist?rio da Previd?ncia Social para diminuir o d?ficit previdenci?rio ao longo do tempo. Tamb?m ? realizada uma s?ntese dos fatos relevantes que constroem a trajet?ria da Previd?ncia at? os dias de hoje, conjuntamente com estudos e proje??es atuariais, nacionais e internacionais, visando contribuir para a redu??o dos desequil?brios.
