Previous issue date: 2006-01-18 / Este trabalho objetivou avaliar a Disposição a Pagar Espontânea e Induzida da População de Rondonópolis (MT) pelo Horto Florestal para mantê-lo e conservá-lo, visando o bem-estar próprio e de suas gerações futuras. O Método de Valoração Contingente - MVC foi o método escolhido nesta análise. É importante destacar que o MVC é um dos principais métodos diretos que permite a estimação de valores de existência e tem o propósito de inferir as preferências individuais por bens ou serviços ambientais a partir de perguntas feitas diretamente às pessoas, estabelecendo suas preferências. A partir da aplicação de um questionário a uma amostra dessa população, identificou-se a intenção das pessoas quanto à sua disposição a pagar para manter e conservar esses benefícios, quanto ao valor de uso e de não-uso. Inicialmente no trabalho de coleta de dados, identificou-se por meio de perguntas abertas a DAP Espontânea dos entrevistados, inclusive a intenção de não se pagar nada pelo benefício, e ainda, os votos de protestos. Com a identificação desses votos de protestos, criou-se novo cenário e uma nova DAP foi identificada, a Induzida. Através de modelos criados a partir de um modelo geral, considerando as DAP’s como variáveis dependentes em cada caso e vinte e cinco variáveis independentes, os modelos foram testados estatisticamente e econométricamente. O estudo demonstrou que, pelos dados apresentados , a sociedade rondonopolitana está disposta a pagar pela manutenção e conservação do Horto Florestal, manifestando também seu voto de protesto atribuindo a responsabilidade por essa manutenção e conservação ao governo. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This project aimed to evaluate the Will to Pay, Spontaneous and Induced, of the Rondonópolis´s population (MT) to maintain and conserve the Horto Florestal, seeking their own and future generation’s well-being. The Contingent Valuation Method - CVM was the chosen method for this analysis. It is important to emphasize that CVM is one of the main direct methods that allows the estimative of the existence values and has the purpose of inferring the individual preferences for goods or environmental services starting from questions done to people directly, establishing their preferences. Starting from the application of a questionnaire to a sample of that population, was identified the people's intention and their disposition to pay to maintain and conserve those benefits, for the use and no-use value. Initially in the data collection was identified, through open questions, the Spontaneous WTP of the interviewees, including the intention of not paying anything for the benefit, and even the protest votes. With the identification of those protest votes, a new scenery was created and a new WTP identified, the Induced. Through models created from a
general model, considering WTP's as dependent variables in each case and twentyfive independent variables, the models were tested statistically and econometrically. The study demonstrated that, for the presented data, the Rondonópolis´s society is willing to pay for the maintenance and conservation of the Horto Florestal, also manifesting their protest vote attributing the responsibility for that maintenance and conservation to the government.
