FundaÃÃo Cearense de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento Cientifico e TecnolÃgico / O EspÃrito Santo desde sua colonizaÃÃo sempre manteve uma estreita ligaÃÃo com o litoral e o mar, sendo, portanto, espaÃos valorizados tanto socioeconÃmicos quanto culturalmente. Como veremos no decorrer da pesquisa, desenvolveu-se principalmente nestes espaÃos e assim condicionou ao estado uma maritimidade marcante, com prÃticas marÃtimas tradicionais e modernas ocorrendo ao longo de toda sua costa, entretanto, muitas delas especialmente concentradas na RegiÃo Metropolitana de VitÃria. Todavia, o municÃpio de Presidente Kennedy, objeto de estudo desta pesquisa, apesar de ser litorÃneo, se desenvolveu por diversos fatores principalmente socioeconÃmicos e culturais, praticamente de costas para o mar com sua sede distante cerca de 30 km do litoral. Frente a esta aparente contradiÃÃo entre o estado e o municÃpio me lancei a desvendar os motivos pelos quais ele assim se desenvolveu, ou seja, sem uma maritimidade marcante atà o inÃcio do sÃculo XXI. Para isso fez uso da anÃlise diacrÃnica referente à histÃria territorial do mesmo, tendo em vista compreender o seu atual ordenamento espacial, voltado para o interior. Pautada nos conceitos de maritimidade e de valorizaÃÃo dos espaÃos litorÃneos e marÃtimos, busquei diagnosticar as principais prÃticas marÃtimas tradicionais e modernas desenvolvidas no municÃpio, desde o perÃodo colonial, no sÃculo XVII, atà os dias atuais, para assim melhor compreender a maritimidade apresentada em Presidente Kennedy. Tendo em vista novas perspectivas de uso e ocupaÃÃo do espaÃo litorÃneo e marÃtimo do municÃpio, dentro da conjuntura socioeconÃmica prevista para o estado, procurei por meio da tÃcnica de elaboraÃÃo de cenÃrios, indicar futuras mutaÃÃes e reconversÃes na forma em que a populaÃÃo local e seus freqÃentadores se relacionam com tais espaÃos, podendo em alguns anos condicionar a Presidente Kennedy uma maritimidade marcante. / Since our colonization the EspÃrito Santo always maintained a close link with the coast and the sea, being, thus, valuable spaces both socioeconomic and culturally. As we will see during the research, developed mainly in these areas and so conditioned to state of maritime marked practices, with traditional and modern maritime occurring all along its coast, however, many of them especially concentrated in the metropolitan area of VitÃria. However, the city of Presidente Kennedy, object of study of this research, despite to be coastal, developed by several factors mainly socioeconomic and cultural, almost back to the sea with its headquarters far about 30 km from the coast. Faced with this apparent contradiction between the state and the city I fell to uncover the reasons why he so developed, that is, without a maritime marked by the beginning of the XXI century. For that made use of diachronic analysis on the history of that territory in order to understand its current spatial turned inward. On concepts of maritime and developing the potential of coastal and maritime, I sought to diagnose the main maritime traditional practices and modern developed in the city since the colonial period in the seventeenth century to the present day, so to better understand maritime presented in Presidente Kennedy. In view of new opportunities for use and occupation of the coastal and marine area of the city, within the socio-economical due to the state, I tried using the technique of scenario development, indicate future changes and redevelopment in the way the local population and their patrons are related to such spaces, and in some years the condition to Presidente Kennedy one maritime marked.
