Previous issue date: 2010-11-25 / Formal education held in schools, it suffers from increasing fragmentation and specialization of disciplines, which complicates the construction of contextual knowledge, that addresses the needs of the education of the student. The interdisciplinary, seeks to develop, through teaching activities, globalization and the significance of knowledge, breaking the boundaries of disciplines in search of an interaction that allows the cooperation of content, methods and concepts. Physical education for their specific content and features, has to take responsibility collaborating on this educational process. This research, entitled "Physical Education in the school context: an interdisciplinary experience in elementary education ", aimed at analyzing the knowledge and interdisciplinary activities implemented by elementary school teachers, analyze interdisciplinary activities proposed for the teachers of 3rd and 4th grade Elementary School and Professor of Physical Education, and check the influence of this interdisciplinary work in the classroom. The study was undertaken through an action research, based on the organization and systematization of interdisciplinary activities and later extracted from the content analysis interviews. These results pointed to the improvement of practice, underpinned by a better organization and systematization of interdisciplinary activities in partnership with the Physical Education teacher. It was concluded that physical education contributed positively in interdisciplinary activities, assisting the teaching of elementary school teachers. / A educação formal, realizada nas escolas, sofre com a crescente fragmentação e especialização das disciplinas, o que dificulta a construção do conhecimento contextualizado, que contemple as necessidades da formação integral do aluno. A interdisciplinaridade, busca desenvolver, por meio da ação docente, a globalização e a significação do conhecimento, rompendo com os limites das disciplinas na busca de uma interação que permita a cooperação de conteúdos, métodos e conceitos. A Educação Física por suas características e conteúdos específicos, vem assumir sua responsabilidade educacional colaborando neste processo. A presente pesquisa, intitulada A Educação Física no contexto escolar: uma experiência interdisciplinar no ensino fundamental , teve como objetivos analisar os conhecimentos e as ações interdisciplinares implementadas por professoras do ensino fundamental, analisar ações interdisciplinares propostas para as professoras de 3ª e 4ª série do Ensino Fundamental e o professor de Educação Física, além de verificar a influência deste trabalho interdisciplinar na ação docente. O estudo se desenvolveu por meio de uma pesquisa-ação, pautada na organização e sistematização de ações interdisciplinares e posterior análise de conteúdo extraído de entrevistas. Os resultados deste trabalho apontaram para a melhoria da prática, sustentada por uma melhor organização e sistematização das ações interdisciplinares em parceria com o professor de Educação Física. Foi possível concluir que a Educação Física colaborou positivamente nas ações interdisciplinares, auxiliando o trabalho docente das professoras do ensino fundamental.
