Previous issue date: 2018-04-05 / Igreja Presbiteriana do Brasil / This research aims to answer the following question: Is the prosperity theology part of the religious discourse of Pastor Silas Malafaia? If so, it happens to what extent? What are the hallmarks of the prosperity theology discourse? To answer this question, this research will start with the presentation of the religious, ministerial and professional formation of Silas Malafaia in order to detect the pillars that served for his formation. Next, a discussion will be made on the discourse of prosperity based on the ideas of discursive language, Michel Foucault, in order to apply this concept to the possible adequacy and contextualization that Silas Malafaia has demonstrated in his discourse in a plural environment. Also part of the theoretical axis of the research is the definition of what is called Prosperity Theology (where it emerged? How it developed? And what are its main representatives?) As a corpus of analysis, this research evaluates the discourse of Silas Malafaia using two sermons of the said pastor: one at the beginning of his ministerial activity (in the 1980s), and another at a time of transition in his trajectory (in the early 2000s). It is worth noting that this change in trajectory was also indicated by the partnerships with televangelists such as Mike Murdok and Morris Cerullo. In this work we highlight the media profile of Silas Malafaia and the adaptation of his discourse to the new realities. / Esta pesquisa objetiva responder a seguinte questão: A Teologia da Prosperidade faz parte do discurso do pastor Silas Malafaia? Se sim, em que medida? Quais são as marcas de um discurso da prosperidade? Para responder a essa pergunta, esta pesquisa partirá da apresentação da formação religiosa, ministerial e profissional de Silas Malafaia com o intuito de se detectar os pilares que serviram para sua formação. Em seguida, fazer-se-á uma discussão a respeito do discurso da prosperidade com base nas ideias da linguagem discursiva, Michel Foucault a fim de aplicarmos esse conceito à possível adequação e contextualização que Silas Malafaia tem demonstrado em seu discurso em um ambiente plural. Também faz parte do eixo teórico da pesquisa a definição do que vem a ser a chamada Teologia da Prosperidade (onde surgiu? como se desenvolveu? e quais são os seus principais representantes?) Como corpus de análise, esta pesquisa avalia o discurso de Silas Malafaia por meio de duas pregações do referido pastor: uma no início de sua atuação ministerial (nos anos 1980), e outra em um momento de transição em sua trajetória (no início dos anos 2000). Vale destacar que essa mudança na trajetória foi indicada também pelas parcerias com os televangelistas como, por exemplo, Mike Murdok e Morris Cerullo. Destaca-se neste trabalho o perfil midiático de Silas Malafaia e a adaptação do seu discurso às novas realidades.
