The aim of this study was to investigate if there is a difference in test performance depending on weather there is a clear connection between recruitment test and work task and when this connection does not exist. Another purpose was to investigate if there is a correlation between a persons performance and his or her attitudes towards the test. To investigate this a questionnaires was used. The designed questionnaire consisted of three parts; the first part consisted of a description of a hypothetical scenario in which the test persons were asked to put themselves. The second part consisted of a cognitive test and the final part consisted of questions concerning the test persons perceived fairness of the cognitive test. The result showed no difference in performance depending on which scenario the test person were given. There was no correlation between test result and perceived fairness. On the other hand we found interesting gender differences where men perceived the as more fair than women independent of which scenario they were given. An explanation to why there was no significant difference between the groups could be that the participants were students. It is possible that the results would have been different if the study had been performed in an authentic recruitment situation.</p>
