Previous issue date: 2009-09-30 / This research addresses the sound hybrid developed by Brazilian musician Hermeto Pascoal, in order to understand the influence of technical rationality scattered by the culture industry, as well as the possibilities of resistance against the logic of standardization of the system. The development of a style of composition and the adoption of specific strategies for the dissemination of Hermeto s creations helps to understand the dialectic between the autonomy of the aesthetic subject and the homogenization of the culture industry, and how the very rich tradition and craft of Brazilian music, especially popular instrumental in some respects, it isn t offered as a docile field to economic domination of this system. / A presente pesquisa aborda a sonoridade híbrida desenvolvida pelo músico brasileiro Hermeto Pascoal, com o intuito de entender as influências da racionalidade técnica difundida pela indústria cultural, assim como as possibilidades de resistência frente à lógica de padronização desse sistema. O desenvolvimento de um estilo próprio de composição e a adoção de estratégias específicas para a divulgação das criações de Hermeto auxilia na compreensão da dialética entre a autonomia do sujeito e a homogeneização estética da indústria cultural, e de como a própria tradição e riqueza artesanal da música brasileira, especialmente a instrumental popular, em alguns aspectos, não se oferece como um campo dócil à dominação econômica desse sistema.
