Previous issue date: 2017 / Esta pesquisa consiste na investigação do aterro da Baía Sul e sua representação como patrimônio moderno na cidade de Florianópolis, a partir dos elementos morfológicos e patrimoniais presentes neste espaço. Tem-se como objetivo compreender a formação territorial desta região da cidade, entender as transformações das relações estabelecidas com a água, analisar a forma física do desenho urbano implementado neste aterro e verificar como são apropriados os espaços destas áreas. O trabalho foi construído a partir de pesquisa bibliográfica, levantamento e estudo de material iconográfico disponível, produção de mapas e esquemas sintetizadores, e a própria observação do lugar. Os dois eixos de investigação que se cruzam no trabalho ? morfologia urbana e patrimônio urbano ? subsidiaram os ponderamentos quanto ao seu tombamento, por meio de três vertentes possíveis: histórica, morfológica e funcional. O ponto de partida da investigação é a interpretação de que o aterro (construído com as premissas de inovação, desenvolvimento e novas possibilidades urbanas) atualmente representa um espaço complexo e ambíguo, mas que marca um tempo e reflete na sua trama urbana o caráter moderno que a cidade adquiriu naquele momento de inserção. O estudo da forma urbana constatou que os ideais modernos desejados no espaço permanecem presentes na sua malha viária, parcelamento do solo e em algumas das edificações inseridas. Também, os limites que distinguem os territórios adjacentes reforçam essa caracterização e identificação da concepção moderna sob o novo espaço criado, e a interpretação das diferentes gêneses revelam os distintos momentos históricos registrados na área central da cidade. A análise dos equipamentos existentes no aterro revela que alguns destes são inerentes à concepção moderna do espaço e possuem um valor patrimonial enquanto outros servem apenas funcionalmente (o que não significa sua permanência definitiva). Verificou-se ainda que o tombamento desta área por meio de decreto estadual ? ocorrido pouco tempo após a conclusão do aterro e idenfiticando-o como área verde, de paisagem e de lazer é até hoje pouco reconhecido. Este tombamento significou uma proteção no âmbito político de acordo com determinados interesses, e não sua verdadeira compreensão patrimonial como parte da história e de valor simbólico e funcional para Florianópolis. / Abstract : This research consists in the investigation of the South?s Bay landfill and it?s representation as a modern patrimony in the city of Florianópolis, from the morphological and patrimonial elements present in this space. It aims to know the territorial formation of this city region, understand the transformations of relations established with water, analyze the physical form of urban design implemented in this landfill and check how are appropriate the spaces in those areas. The work was build through bibliographic research, survey and study of available iconographic material, production of maps and synthesizers schemes, and the observation of the place itself. The two axis of investigation that intersect in this work ¬? urban morphology and urban patrimony ¬? sustained the considerations regarding its architectural heritage, by means of three possible aspects: historical, morphological and functional. The staring point of the research is the interpretation that the landfill (built with the initial ideas of innovation, development and new urban possibilities) currently represents a complex and ambiguous space, but that marks a time and reflects in its urban fabric the modern character that the city acquired at that moment of insertion. The study of the urban form found that the modern ideals desired for that space remain present in its road network, subdivision of the soil and some of the buildings inserted. Also, the boundaries that distinguish the adjacent territories reinforce this characterization and identification of the modern conception, and the interpretation of the different geneses reveal the distinct historical moments recorded in the central area of the city. The analysis of the existing equipment in the landfill reveals that some of these are inherent to the modern conception of the space and have a patrimonial value while others serve only functionally (which does not guarantee its definitive permanence). It was also verifed that the architectural heritage character of this area by means of a state decree ? occurred shortly after the conclusion of the landfill and identifying it as a green, landscape and leisure area ? is still poorly recognized. This heritage character meant a protection in the political scope according to certain interests, not its true patrimonial understanding as part of history and of symbolic and functional value for Florianópolis.
