Bakgrund: Kompressionsbehandling används till patienter med benödem och sår på underben vilket är en vanligt förekommande arbetsuppgift för sjuksköterskan i kommunal hälso-och sjukvård. Det finns riktlinjer för hur patientens cirkulatoriska status i benen ska bedömas i samband med en kompressionsbehandling. För att upprätthålla patientens följsamhet till kompressionsbehandling arbetar sjuksköterskan tillsammans med andra professioner i den kommunala hälso-och sjukvården. En bristande följsamhet hos patienten kan leda till patientlidande och ökade samhällskostnader. Syfte: Var att utifrån kommunal hälso- och sjukvård beskriva vidareutbildade sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av patienters följsamhet vid kompressionsbehandling och vad som kan påverka den. Metod: En kvalitativ studie där datainsamlingen skett genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med nio deltagare som innefattade både distriktssköterskor och vidareutbildade sjuksköterskor. Intervjuerna har analyserats utifrån en kvalitativ innehållsanalys med en induktiv ansats. Resultat: I resultatet framgick det att gynnande och bristande orsaker till patientens följsamhet till kompressionsbehandling kunde påverkas av de olika professionernas kunskap och förmåga till att informera och följa riktlinjer. Genom att sjuksköterskorna upprätthöll en kontinuitet kunde vården individanpassas vilket ökade patientens delaktighet och motivation till följsamhet. Slutsats: Läkarnas engagemang och kunskap om kompressionsbehandling var avgörande för om riktlinjerna efterföljdes. Genom att personalen gav återkommande information till patienten bidrog det till en ökad motivation. Det kunde även ses ett samband mellan personalens kunskap och patientens förståelse för kompressionsbehandlingen vilket var av stor betydelse för patientens följsamhet. / Background: Compression therapy is used for patients with leg edema and wounds on the lower legs, which is a common task for the nurses in municipal healthcare. There are guidelines for how the patient's circulatory status in the legs should be assessed in connection with a compression therapy. In order to maintain the patient's compliance to compression therapy, the nurse works together with other professions in the municipal health care. A lack of patient compliance can lead to patient suffering and increased societal costs. Purpose: Based on municipal health care, the study describes advanced nurses' experiences of patients' compliance with compression therapy and what can affect it. Method: A qualitative study where the data collection took place through semi-structured interviews with nine participants that included both district nurses and advanced nurses. The interviews have been analyzed based on a qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach. Results: The results showed that favourable and unfavourable reasons for the patient's compliance to compression therapy, could be influenced by the various professions' knowledge and ability to inform and follow guidelines. By the nurses maintaining continuity, the care could be individually adapted, which increased the patient's participation and motivation to compliance. Conclusion: Physicians' commitment and knowledge of compression therapy was decisive for whether the guidelines were followed. By the staff giving recurring information to the patient, it contributed to increased motivation. A connection could also be seen between the staff's knowledge and the patient's understanding of the compression therapy, which was of great importance for the patient's compliance.
