The purpose of the study is to get a deeper understanding in how the teachers work with the students during the pedagogic meal. This by observing teachers during the schoollunch and see which pedagogic activities takes place. The paper intends to investigate how teachers relate to, and act according to the guidelines that are applicable to the educational meal by both the Swedish government and the schools. The study was conducted with the help of observations studies in two elementary schools. The two municipalities looks different on the pedagogic meal. At both schools the survey was conducted in the school canteen. Both schools were examined during a week with five consecutive days. The study shows that when teachers exercise the pedagogic meal they take on one of four teacher role. These four roles ranged from adult to pupil oriented and varied in their level of interaction with the students.
