Inledning: Alla företag i Sverige behöver enligt lag redovisa sina ekonomiska händelser. För att underlätta redovisningen används ofta affärssystem och småföretag kan ha svårt att välja vilket system som ska implementeras. Detta då småföretag oftast klarar sig med ett ekonomisystem som kan sköta fakturering och den löpande bokföringen. Denna funktion finns i de flesta svenska affärssystem. Studien undersöker vilka faktorer som påverkar småföretagens val av affärssystem och varför de väljer olika trots att de grundläggande funktionerna är desamma. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att studera val av affärssystem för redovisning i småföretag. Detta för att få en bättre förståelse kring hur småföretagens beslutsprocess går till vid införskaffandet av affärssystem. Förhoppningen är att denna studie ska ge beslutsfattaren ett bättre underlag inför valet av affärssystem. Metod: I studien har en kvalitativ metod tillämpats där semistrukturerade intervjuer med fem företag har genomförts. Genom en induktiv ansats har empirin kopplats ihop med teorin för att slutligen analyseras. Slutsats: Vi har sammanställt en beslutsprocess som småföretag genomför vid val av affärssystem. Utmaningar och lösningar i småföretagens beslutsprocess har identifierats. / Title: How do small businesses choose enterprise resource planning systems? - A qualitative study of the decision-making process. To facilitate accounting, enterprise resource planning systems are often used and small businesses may have difficulty choosing which system to implement. This is because small businesses usually manage with a financial system that can handle invoicing and current recording. This function is found in most Swedish enterprise resource planning systems. The study examines the factors that influence small businesses' choice of enterprise resource planning systems and why they choose differently even though the basic functions are the same. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to study the choice of enterprise resource planning systems for accounting in small businesses. This is to gain a better understanding of how the small businesses decision-making process takes place when acquiring enterprise resource planning systems. The hope is that this study will provide the decision-maker with a better basis for choosing an enterprise resource planning system. Method: In the study, a qualitative method has been applied where semi-structured interviews with five companies have been conducted. Through an inductive approach, the empiric has been linked to the theory to be finally analyzed. Conclusion: We have compiled a decision-making process that small businesses carry out when choosing an enterprise resource planning system. Challenges and solutions in the small business decision-making process have been identified.
