The purpose of the study has been to investigate how voluntary organization’s work toinclude young people into society and what significance these organizations have for youngpeople. To carry out the study, we contacted “Samtalsringen”, which is a voluntaryorganisation with the goal of counteracting negative behaviors in young boys and includingthem into society. We used semi-structured interviews and then categorized the collecteddata based on the main research question of the study. We used the theoretical startingpoints and previous research within the area of our study to analyze the results. The resultsshow that the organization’s work depends on the trust that the young people feel towardsthe leaders and the other participants. By talking in groups, the young people’sunderstandings regarding their own and other participants' situations started to increase.Samtalsringen then works for the young people to be able to gain control and autonomy overtheir lives by motivation and encouraging them. The young people have a great appreciationfor Samtalsringen and the impact that the organisation have had for them in school, workand everyday life.
