Previous issue date: 2012-06-22 / Nowadays, the research about psychology has highlighted the development and the validation of the assessment instruments, aimed to the young population. Among them, two have already been translated/adapted to Portuguese in Brazil: Hare Psychopathy Checklist: Youth Version (PCL:YV) and the Interpersonal Measure of Psychopathy (IM-P). PCL:YV is a scale, with 20 items, that has unveiled the factorial structure, comprising of interpersonal, emotional and behavioral aspects_three factor model _and antisocial_ four factor model. IM-P, which has 21 items, is made up by three latent factors, specifically focused on interpersonal and emotional aspects of the psychopathic personality. The research aimed to find out the evidences that may validate the former instruments in the Brazilian context, through the factorial analyzes. It was carried out with adolescents from the South of Brazil, male, from 13 to 19 years old, who attended social educational terms deprived from freedom. In the Empirical Research 1, it was observed the following results to PCL:YV, with 217 participants. The exploratory factorial analyses (EFAs) showed that some of the items were joined in this sample, whose factors were different from the theoretical models. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFAs) demonstrated the quality rates of the satisfactory adjustments to the three and four factorial models, both hierarchal and correlated, however the rates are slightly more favorable to the three factorial model.The subjacent empirical and methodological differences, associated to the models, were discussed as well as their implications. In the Research 2, in which participated 127 adolescents, it was observed that the AFEs results to IM-P can be considered a support to the three factor structural model. Though, the quality rates of the adjustment suggests the possibility of a better specification to the model that already exists, by adding a factor. The positive and meaningful correlations between PCL:YV and IM-P as well as between IM-P and Factor 1 of PCL:YV were the basis to the additional validation of the instruments. The evidences, even though were substantial, they were, at the same time, incipient, and require continuity of the validation studies, considering, with the new samples, the diversity of the subgroups of adolescents that there are in the country. Apart from that, it was perceived that the methodological differences in the conduction and the outcomes of the factorial analysis, the technical accuracy in the application of the instruments and the appropriate use of the results still need to be highlighted, since it is related to the adolescents psychopathy traits. / Na atualidade, a pesquisa sobre psicopatia tem dado ?nfase ao desenvolvimento e valida??o de instrumentos de avalia??o, dirigidos, inclusive, ?s popula??es jovens. Entre estes, dois j? est?o traduzidos/adaptados para o portugu?s do Brasil: o Invent?rio de Psicopatia de Hare: Vers?o Jovens (PCL:YV) e a Medida Interpessoal de Psicopatia (IM-P). O PCL:YV ? uma escala, com 20 itens, que vem revelando estrutura fatorial composta por aspectos interpessoais, afetivos, comportamentais _modelo de tr?s fatores_ e antissociais _modelo de quatro fatores. A IM-P, que contem 21 itens, compondo tr?s fatores latentes, ? focada, especificamente, nos aspectos interpessoais e afetivos da personalidade psicop?tica. Esta pesquisa, com objetivo de obter evid?ncias de validade para esses instrumentos no contexto brasileiro, a partir de an?lises fatoriais, foi realizada com adolescentes sul-brasileiros, masculinos, com idades entre 13 a 19 anos, que cumpriam medida socioeducativa de priva??o de liberdade. O Estudo Emp?rico 1 apresenta os resultados para o PCL:YV, com 217 participantes. As an?lises fatoriais explorat?rias (AFEs) revelaram que alguns itens se agruparam, nesta amostra, em fatores diferentes dos indicados nos modelos te?ricos. As an?lises fatoriais confirmat?rias (AFCs) evidenciaram ?ndices de qualidade de ajustes satisfat?rios para os modelos fatorais de tr?s e de quatro fatores, tanto hier?rquicos quanto correlacionados, por?m com ?ndices levemente mais favor?veis para o modelo de tr?s fatores.As diferen?as te?ricas e metodol?gicas subjacentes aos modelos foram discutidas, bem como suas implica??es. O Estudo 2, realizado com 127 adolescentes, apresenta os resultados das AFEs para a IM-P, as quais revelaram suporte para o modelo estrutural de tr?s fatores. Contudo, ao ser testado em AFCs, os ?ndices de qualidade de ajuste sugeriram a possibilidade de melhor especifica??o do modelo com o acr?scimo de um fator. As correla??es positivas e significantes entre o PCL:YV e a IM-P e o entre a IM-P e o Fator 1 do PCL:YV deram sustenta??o adicional ? validade dos instrumentos. As evid?ncias obtidas, apesar de substanciais, s?o incipientes, demandando pela continuidade dos estudos de valida??o, contemplando, com novas amostras, a diversidade de subgrupos adolescentes existentes no pa?s. Al?m disso, constatou-se que as diferen?as metodol?gicas na condu??o das an?lises fatoriais, o rigor t?cnico na aplica??o dos instrumentos e o uso apropriado dos resultados permanecem sendo preocupa??es emergentes da pesquisa envolvendo tra?os de psicopatia em jovens.
