Uppgiften består av att rita en tillbyggnad till befintliga den Nationalmuseibyggnaden. Byggnaden ska komplettera museets verksamheter och även ha en publik del. Programmet för tillbyggnaden innehåller både ateljéer, kontorsplatser och magasin. Tanken är att man vill flytta funktioner som idag huserar inne i Nationalmuseum och annexet till tillbyggnaden för att frigöra mer publika ytor och öppna upp museet. Jag har valt att jobba med en fristående byggnad från Nationalmuseum, både för att öppna upp meseumparken och göra den mer attraktiv samt för att göra transporten av konsten in och ut smidig. Kommunikationen mellan de två husvolymerna sker under mark där även magasinen är placerade. Genom att jag har ett avstånd mellan de två volymerna över mark gav det mig en större frihet att tolka både Nationalmuseum och omgivningen i min byggnads uttryck. Jag har valt att arbeta med en öppen volym, både i fasad och plan. Min tanke är att byggnaden ska kommunicera och visuellt öppna upp sig i alla vädersträck. Det vill jag göra för att ge platsen en lätthet som medför att tillbyggnaden inte låser och stänger av parkstråket som går runt Nationalmuseum. Min publika del har jag placerat på bottenvåningen och till viss del undermark. Detta för att skapa nya flöden i parken. Resten av huset är privat för Nationalmuseum. Den interna kommunikationen sker antingen genom hisskärnan som är placerad i byggnadens mitt eller i trappsystemet som är placerad längst med ytterfasaden. Konsten lastas in på bottenvåningen där lastintaget är placerat i byggnaden nordvästra hörn. Konsten transporteras sedan upp eller ner genom byggnaden beroende på ändamålet. / The task is to design a retrofit to existing the National Museum building. The building will complement the museum's activities and also have a public part. The program for the building contains both studios, office spaces and warehouses. The idea is that you want to move the functions that are currently housed inside the National Museum and the annexe to the building to free up more public areas and open up the museum. I have chosen to work with an independent building on the site, both to open up meseumparken and make it more attractive and to make the transportation of art in and out smooth. Communication between the two volyms occurs during ground even where the trays are placed. By having a distance between the two volumes of the land it gave me more freedom to interpret both the National Museum and the surroundings in my architectural expression. I have chosen to work with an open volume, both in front and flat. My thought is that the building should communicate and visually open up in all directions. I want to do to give the site a facility that not lock the walkway that goes around the National Museum. I have placed my public part of the building on the ground floor and some underground. This will create new streams in the park. The rest of the house is private to the National Museum. Internal communication is done either by the elevator core that is placed in the center of the building or the stair system that is located along the outer facade. The art is loaded in on the ground floor where the cargo intake is situated in the northwest corner of the building. The art is then transported up or down through the building, depending on the purpose.
