Previous issue date: 2013-04-13 / This thesis of doctoral aims to analyze the political action of rural and textile workers of city Magé, State of Rio de Janeiro, between 1956 and 1973, highlighting the performance in partnership of these two categories, as well their forms of the organization and struggles. As we consider this city as an privileged scenario to investigate the connections between the rural and the urban - given that was a important producer of food and became a textile industrial center - our aim will be to map the participation of various political parties, leaders, groups and institutions that dialogued with these workers beyond the myth of the 'Sickle and Hammer'. Thus, we seek to contribute to studies on social history of work, emphasizing the link between the collective struggles and the political action tools used by these weavers and farmers, analyzed together in this research. / A presente tese pretende analisar a ação política dos trabalhadores rurais e têxteis do municí-pio de Magé, Estado do Rio de Janeiro, entre os anos de 1956 e 1973, com destaque para as atuações dessas duas categorias em parceria, bem como as suas formas de organização e lutas. Ao considerarmos este município como um cenário privilegiado para se investigar as conexões entre o rural e urbano – tendo em vista que a cidade foi uma pródiga produtora de alimentos e tornou-se um polo industrial têxtil – nosso intuito será mapear a participação dos diversos partidos políticos, lideranças, grupos e instituições que dialogavam com esses trabalhadores para além do mito da 'foice o e martelo'. Deste modo, buscamos contribuir com os estudos sobre história do trabalho, enfatizando a articulação entre as lutas coletivas e as ferramentas de ação política utilizadas por esses tecelões e lavradores, analisados de forma conjunta nesta pesquisa.
