The purpose of this study is to describe local residents and second home owners relationship with tourism development in two villages in the parish of Nordingrå, Kramfors municipality. In the process of gathering information were ten residents interviewed by phone. The number of respondents were too few to make any real assumptions, but comparisons has been made between the respondent’s answers and the already existing literature. The respondents seem too have faith in the deciding organs in their municipality and about half of the respondents wished to have more influence in the tourism development. The other half of the respondents felt like their own knowledge were too small to consider a valid opinion. Some of the respondents and the municipal officials pointed out the importance of entrepreneurs and the effect they could have. The same point was made by Koh (2000) who said that the entrepreneurs are a big part of the construction of a tourist destination. Whether the there´s a business-friendly climate in Nordingrå is unclear, but the people who live there seem to appreciate the entrepreneurial initiative´s that´s been done The respondents are all positive to the two villages being tourist destinations. Half of the residents believe that the amount of tourist is good enough as things stand, and the other half says they don´t mind if the number of tourists increases even further. The responding second home owners are more positive to the increase of tourists than the local residents. Which is the direct opposite of Steadmans (2006) claims. He says that the second home owners have a tendency to oppose tourism development.
