Previous issue date: 2015-06-26 / CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A presente pesquisa tem como objeto a sistematização do ensino do violão em Belém do Pará, enfatizando o seu uso como instrumento solista. Aqui entendo por ―sistematização‖, a ―organização‖ ou ―ordenação‖ do ensino do violão quanto aos seus conteúdos e repertórios em níveis progressivos da técnica de execução solo. No Pará, o violão foi introduzido pelo colonizador português, sendo poucas as informações sobre quando, como e porquê este ensino foi sistematizado, daí a necessidade deste estudo. O objetivo geral consistiu em investigar como se deu a sistematização do ensino de violão solo na capital paraense. Os objetivos específicos buscaram apresentar breve histórico sobre a sistematização do ensino de violão solo em Belém, analisar como o violão solo foi introduzido e como vem sendo constituído, nessa cidade, ao longo de diferentes gerações e refletir sobre o legado desse processo de sistematização para a comunidade local quanto à prática de violão solo e a contribuição dos seus principais colaboradores (compositores, intérpretes e didatas) para a atual conjuntura do ensino do instrumento em Belém do Pará. A metodologia compreendeu estudo bibliográfico, análise documental e entrevistas no âmbito da história oral. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que o violão teve desenvolvida a sua trajetória de sistematização do ensino com uma incisiva participação na construção da história da música local, sendo influenciado e influenciando as práticas artísticas, em Belém do Pará, onde rompe barreiras de preconceito e se impõe como um influente instrumento de versátil atuação em diversos gêneros da música erudita e popular e esferas sociais, dessa cidade. / The present research has as object the systematization of the teaching of the guitar in Belém, Pará, emphasizing its function as a solo instrument. In Pará, the guitar has been introduced by Portuguese colonizers, and there is little information on when, how and why its teaching was systematized, hence the need for this study. The overall objective was to investigate how the systematization of solo guitar education was brought about in the state capital of Pará. The specific objectives aimed to: present a brief background on the systematization of the teaching of solo guitar in Belém, analyze how the guitar was introduced and how it has been developed, in this city, throughout different generations, and reflect over the legacy of this systematization process for the local community regarding the practices of solo guitar and the contribution of its main collaborators (composers, interpreters and educators) for the current scenario of the teaching of this instrument in Belém, Pará. The methodology consisted in bibliographical study, analysis of documents and interviews in the domain of oral history. The results of the research indicate that the guitar has had the systematization process of its teaching developed with an effective participation in the construction of the history of local music, being influenced by, as well as influencing over, artistic practices in Belém, Pará, where it breaks prejudice barriers and stands out as an influent instrument of versatile execution in several genres of classical and popular music and social circles of this city.
