Uppsatsen undersöker huruvida visualisering kan vara en lämplig metodför att väcka uppmärksamhet och medvetenhet kring samhällsproblemetmental ohälsa. Syftet är att genom litteraturstudier och praktiskundersökning fördjupa kunskaperna inom visualisering av information.Syftet är även att genom kvalitativa fokuserade gruppintervjuer undersökaom visualisering av mental ohälsa har potential att öka förståelsen fördetta fenomen, med teoretisk utgångspunkt i visuell perception ochkognition. Slutsatsen är att visualisering av mental ohälsa kan vara enmycket effektiv metod för ändamålet eftersom att det ger möjlighet attuppmärksamma ett ämne inom vilket ord inte upplevs räcka till för attförklara. Detta tack vare bildens omedelbara kommunikation som genomen visuell och kognitiv process gör det möjligt för mottagaren att få enbild av problemet. / The essay explores whether visualization can be a suitable method toincrease people’s awareness of mental illness. The purpose of this paperis, through literature studies and practical examination, to increase theknowledge of visualization of information. The purpose is also to, withthe help of a focus group, examine whether visualization of mental illnesshas the potential to increase people’s awareness of this phenomenon. Theconclusion is that visualization of mental illness can be a very effectivemethod by providing the opportunity to draw attention to a subject inwhich words are not perceived to be enough to explain. This is thanks tothe instant communication capability of an image through which a visualand cognitive process makes it possible for the viewer to get a picture ofthe problem.
