This paper is an attempt to show how classroom teachers can translate democracy into action. By the use of a few carefully selected experiences and situations, the writer has hoped to make clear some of the commonly accepted principles underlying the American way of life and to illustrate methods by which teachers can realize the educational objectives of a democratic society.
