Design and Development of the ASTM G65 Apparatus

This thesis focuses on designing a specialized ASTM G65 testing apparatus for UddeholmsAB, a company known for its high-quality tool steels. Using 3D Experience software, we developed a primary design and analyzed how Neoprene rubber interacts with Vanadis4E. The project followed Freddy Olsson’s design methods, aiming for simplicity and cost-efficiency while meeting the specific testing needs of the company. The final design allows UddeholmsAB to test the wear resistance of their products more accurately. This work helps improve the way tool steels are evaluated, ensuring they are durable and reliable for use in industry.
