Previous issue date: 2013 / Estudos no contexto do Sistema Unico de Saúde (SUS) podem contribuir para a superacao de barreiras, tais como o deficit de profissionais que trabalham diretamente nas acoes primarias em Saúde no ambito comunitario. A expansao da Estrategia Saúde da Familia coloca em destaque o Agente Comunitario de Saúde (ACS) na condicao de importante ator social na viabilizacao do sistema de Saúde. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi analisar as praticas de educacao em Saúde desenvolvidas pelo ACS nas equipes de Saúde da Familia, no municipio de Altamira/PA. Os objetivos especificos compreenderam conhecer o perfil socio economico do ACS, caracterizar seu trabalho em relacao as atribuicoes previstas na legislacao, identificar as necessidades de formacao do ACS, mapear as praticas educativas desenvolvidas na comunidade, identificar as facilidades/dificuldades para desenvolver as acoes educativas. Metodologia: estudo descritivo-exploratorio com abordagem qualitativa. Para a coleta de dados foi utilizado questionario semi-estruturado aplicado a 63 ACS do municipio de Altamira/Para; os dados foram analisados segundo o metodo de analise de conteudo u tipo tematico. A analise focalizou perfil socioeconomico, atribuicoes legais, formacao do ACS e praticas educativas desenvolvidas na comunidade. Resultados: Os dados sobre o perfil socioeconomico dos ACS evidenciaram a proximidade com o publico-alvo atendido no servico de Saúde. Os agentes atendem a maioria das atribuicoes legais previstas para seu trabalho na comunidade. As demandas de formacao referem-se a conhecimentos especificos sobre alcool e drogas e vigilancia em Saúde, procedimentos tecnicos de Saúde, comunicacao, relacionamento interpessoal, etica e identidade do ACS. As acoes educativas na comunidade compreendem palestras e visitas domiciliares. Os ACS citam um amplo leque de dificuldades para o desenvolvimento dessas acoes como: deficit na gestao/politica (curso de formacao e infraestrutura), perfil inadequado da equipe de Saúde, escassa interface com a comunidade e falta de parceria entre a secretaria de Saúde e a universidade. Como facilidades para essas acoes, expuseram: apoio dos gestores, efetiva interacao com a comunidade, e boa relacao entre os profissionais da equipe de Saúde. Conclusoes: Observa-se a importancia da normatizacao do processo de formacao do ACS de forma a oferecer subsidios para o desenvolvimento de acoes educativas dialogicas, valorizacao do relevante papel de elo do ACS entre a comunidade e a equipe de Saúde da ESF no sentido de valorizar esse profissional que ocupa um espaco estrategico nas politicas brasileiras de atencao a Saúde / Studies in the context of the Unified Health System

health actions in the community. The expansion of t
he Family Health Strategy puts
emphasis on the Community Health Agent - CHA as an
important social actor in the
viability of the health system. The general objecti
ve of this research was to analyze the
practices of health education developed by CHA in t
eams of the Family Health Strategy, in
the city of Altamira/PA. The specific objectives ai
med to know the socio-economic profile
of the CHA, to characterize their work in relation
to the tasks prescribed in the legislation,
to identify the training needs of the CHA, mapping
the educational practices developed in
the community, to identify facilitator and difficul
ty tasks to develop educational activities.
Methodology
: descriptive exploratory study with a qualitative
approach. A semi-
structured questionnaire was applied to 63 health a
gents from Altamira - Pará for
collection of data; data were analyzed according to
the method of content analysis -
thematic type. The analysis focused on socioeconomi
c, legal duties, the ACS training and
educational practices developed in the community.
Results
: Data on the socioeconomic
profile of CHA showed the proximity to the target g
roup assisted by the health service.
The agents meet most of the legal duties aimed for
their work in the community. The
training demands refer to specific knowledge about
alcohol, drugs, health surveillance,
technical procedures, health communication, interpe
rsonal, ethic and identity of CHA.
Educational actions in the community include lectur
es and home visits. The CHA refers to
a wide range of difficulties for the development of
such activities as: deficit in management
/ policy (training course and infrastructure), inad
equate profile of the health team, deficient
interface with the community and lack of partnershi
p between the health secretary and the
university. As facilitators for these actions: mana
gement support, effective interaction with
the community, and good relationship between the pr
ofessional health team.
Conclusions
: it was observed the importance of regularization
of the training process of
these community health agents as a way to offer sub
sidies for the development of
dialogical educational actions, valuing the signifi
cant role of CHA ́s relationship between
the community and the health team of the family hea
lth strategy to worth this professional
who occupies a strategic place in the Brazilian pol
