In this work we propose basically a theoretical-critical review and an approach to analyze the autofiction genre Chove sobre minha infância, 2000 by Miguel Sanches Neto,
focusing on the existence and function of non-verbal elements incorporated in the literary discourse. This narrative text is composed by two different literary genres: the romance (novel) and the autobiography. These discursive registers come together to suggest a new
genre in the literature, becoming a new object of study in our field. Due to the discursive heterogeneity, the narrative presents some situation and theoretical problems which, firstly, we aim to explain it by presenting the literature review and debates about autobiographies and
autofiction genres. Secondly, we are going to highlight the function of non-verbal analysis as a setting contribution to the verbal discourse, as well as the problems resulting from the integration of non-verbal signs into the fictional text. / Neste trabalho propomos, fundamentalmente, uma revisão teórico-crítica a respeito do gênero autoficção e uma abordagem da obra Chove sobre minha infância, 2000, do escritor paranaense Miguel Sanches Neto, focada na presença e função dos elementos imagéticos que estão incorporados ao discurso literário. O texto narrativo mencionado movimenta-se por dois gêneros literários diferentes: o romance e a autobiografia. Esses registros discursivos convergem para um gênero relativamente novo dentro da produção literária, o que o torna, então, um objeto que chama atenção cada vez mais no fazer dos estudos literários. Em virtude de sua heterogeneidade discursiva, a narrativa coloca-nos frente a uma série de impasses e problemas teóricos. A fim de melhor esclarecê-los, em um primeiro momento, apresentamos
em uma contextualização as principais teorizações e discussões a respeito tanto das autobiografias, quanto das autoficções. No segundo momento de nosso trabalho, destacamos a função do elemento fotográfico como contribuição compositiva de um discurso verbal, bem
como os problemas decorrentes da integração de signos não-linguísticos ao texto ficcional.
