Previous issue date: 1995 / Resumo: O presente estudo objetivou verificar as relações existentes entre o ambiente sócio-afetivo da pré-escola e o processo de escolha. Para isso foram realizadas observações em sala de aula e entrevistas com alunos e professores de quatro classes de escola pública municipal. As professoras das classes estudadas embasavam sua prática pedagógica no PROEPRE ( Programa de Educação Pré - Escolar) de autoria da Profa. Dra. Orly Zucatto Mantovani de Assis, que tem por fundamento a Epistemologia Genética de Jean Piaget. Nas classes estudadas as experiências eram estimulantes e a alegria e a cooperação contribuíam para a existência de uma atmosfera psicologicamente favorável ao progresso intelectual e à conquista da autonomia ( intelectual, moral e social ). Os professores respeitavam as escolhas e decisões de seus alunos e elaboravam conjuntamente com eles as regras que norteariam seu trabalho. De modo geral, as diversas categorias mostraram que o ambiente sócio - afetivo apresenta uma influência significativa no processo de escolha. Os resultados demonstraram ainda a importância da liberdade de escolha para a formação da pessoa autônoma, o contexto em que essa liberdade se dá, o papel do interesse e da afetividade nesse processo, bem como o caminho para que a criança aprenda a escolher desde a mais tenra idade / Abstract: The goal ofthe present essay was to join the relation between the social-affective environment of elementary school and the choice process. In order to do it, classrooms have been observed and students and teachers from four Public Schools have been interviewed. The teachers of the classes which had been observed, based their pedagogic practice in PROEPRE (Elementary School Education Program) from the authorship of OrIy Zucatto Mantovani de Assis, who has his basis on the Genetic Epistemology of Jean Piaget. In the researched classrooms, the experiences were stimulating and the joyness and cooperation contributed for a psychological atmosphere favorable to the intellectual progress and to the conquest of autonomy (intellectual, moral and social). The teachers have respected the choices and decisions of their students and have elaborated together with them the mIes that lead their work. In a general way, the different categories have shown that the social-affective environment presents a meaningful influence in the choice process. The results have still demonstrated the importance in the choice freedom to the development of an independent person, the context in which their freedom happens, the interest and affectivity role in this process, as well as the way the child learns how to choose / Mestrado / Psicologia Educacional / Mestre em Educação
