Ao longo do tempo, a região manifestou esse conflito através da literatura.
Atualmente, é com Márcio Camargo Costa que encontramos o registro de algumas dessas contradições culturais e políticas. Com uma linguagem que oscila entre a poesia e a prosa, sem fazer as mediações convencionais, procura retratar, de forma ficcional, os acontecimentos regionais. E, ao recontar a história, dando destaque ao humor, à tipificação regionalista e à crítica de costumes, revela um mundo que está perdendo as suas características diante da modernidade.
The Santa Catarina Plateau literary history shows a set of very peculiar characteristics, the most detached is the impact betwem the regional culture and the search for the universality. Through the time, the region demonstrate this conflict by the literature.
Actually, we find some of this culture and politics contradictions with Márcio Camargo Costa. With a language that oscillates between the poetry and the prose, without doing the conventional mediations, he tries to show, in a fiction form, some regional events. And when recounting the history, giving prominence to the humor, to the country way and the critic of habits, he reveals a world that is losing yours characteristics in front of modernity.
