This degree project in information design - spatial design, deals with an entrance communication ability in a home for the elderly. The purpose of the work is to transform the main entrance so that it communicates better with the visitor through its spaciousness and that the entire surface is used. The work is based on the main entrance at Södermalmshemmet in Örebro. The aim of the work is to re-design the entrance hall so that it can communicate with the visitors, and firstly for those who visit the site for the first time, so that they find the way and feel welcome. With the help of observations and questionnaires, it has been found that the entrance is perceived to be forgotten and pale and it communicates inadequately with the visitor. A re-design proposal has been developed with the support of theory and empirical evidence that color, light and wayshowing are good informative elements in a communicative entrance. The proposal is based on finding through color coding. / Detta examensarbete i informationsdesign – rumslig gestaltning, behandlar en entrés kommunikativa förmåga på ett hem för äldre. Syftet med arbetet är att omforma huvudentré så den bättre kommunicerar med besökaren genom dess rumslighet och att hela ytan kommer till användning. Arbetet utgår från huvudentrén på Södermalmshemmet i Örebro. Målet med arbetet är att omgestalta entrérummet så att det kan kommunicera med besökarna, och då i första hand de som besöker platsen för första gången, så att de hittar och känner sig välkomna. Med hjälp av observationer och frågeformulär har det framkommit att entrén upplevs bortglömd och blek och att den kommunicerar bristfälligt med besökaren. Ett re-designförslag har tagits fram med stöd i teori och empiri som visar att färg, ljus och wayshowing är bra informativa delar i en kommunikativ entré.
