Ressalta a importância da Educação a Distância cuja crescente presença pode ser notada nas últimas décadas, nas diversas áreas de formação e atualização profissional. Tal crescimento se deve ao surgimento de novas tecnologias. Esta modalidade proporciona autonomia ao cidadão para aprender continuamente, e aponta como alternativa para socialização do conhecimento, novas formas de aprender, tomando para dentro do âmbito educativo as novas práticas que a revolução tecnológica contemporânea representa, através das modernas formas de comunicação e informação. O pressuposto que direciona a Educação a Distância é a noção de que o processo reflexivo sobre a formação e qualificação profissional deve-se reportar, necessariamente, às transformações em curso no setor educacional, convergindo a análise para uma abordagem multidisciplinar das relações entre trabalho, educação e cidadania. Dessa forma, o estudo se propõe a analisar e investigar a efetividade da Educação a Distância no Curso de Formação de Professores da região de Jacobina estado da Bahia, no período de 2000 e 2002. As discussões teóricas envolvendo Educação a Distância e Novas Tecnologias, aliadas ao trabalho de pesquisa de campo, resultaram no caminho teórico-metodológico que norteou o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa.
This work tells resulted of a research on PROFORMAÇÃO. The importance of the Education standes out in the distance whose increasing presence can be noticed in the last decades, in the diverse areas of formation and professional update. Such growth if must to the sprouting of new technologies. This modality provides autonomy to the citizen to learn continuously, and points as alternative with respect to socialization of the knowledge, new forms to learn, taking for inside by the educative scope new practical that the technological revolution contemporary represents, through the modern forms of communication and information . Estimated that it directs the Education in the distance is the notion of that the reflective process on the formation and professional qualification must be reported, necessarily, to the transformations in course in the educational sector, converging the analysis a boarding to multidiscipline of the relations between work, education and citizenship. Of this form, the study if it considers in the distance to analyze and to investigate the effectiveness of the Education in the Course of Formation of Professors of the region of Jacobina been of the Bahia, in the period of 2000 and 2002 . The theoretical quarrels involving Education in the distance and New Technologies, allied to the work of field research, had resulted in the way theoretician-methodological who guided the development of this research.
