The prevalence of divorce in our society and its possible effects on the family make it an important area for research. The primary focus of this study was to determine the effects of Parental marital status on college student’s attitudes toward marriage and divorce. Individual measures of attitudes were complied to develop an overall scale measuring respondent's attitudes toward marriage. The sample for this study was comprised of 504 undergraduate students. The proportion of respondents whose parents bad dissolved their marriages was approximately one-third. Bivariate analyses revealed significant attitude differences for variations in family structure.
